GANGTOK TOUR PACKAGE (3 NIGHTS, 4 DAYS)

A 3-night, 4-day itinerary is the ideal duration to experience the highlights of Gangtok, the scenic capital of Sikkim. This plan covers spectacular high-altitude glacial lakes, sacred monasteries, and local mountain culture.

Day 1: Arrival & Evening at MG Marg

Morning/Afternoon: Arrive at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) or Siliguri. Meet your driver and proceed on a 4.5 to 5-hour scenic drive (approx. 125 km) to Gangtok, tracing the winding Teesta River.

Late Afternoon: Check into your hotel. (Booking a hotel near MG Marg is highly recommended for easy access to dining and transport).

Evening: Enjoy a relaxed walk down MG Marg, a clean, vehicle-free pedestrian avenue. Explore the vibrant local shops, try authentic thukpa (noodle soup) or steamed momos, and pick up traditional souvenirs like Tibetan prayer flags at the nearby Lal Bazar

Day 2: High-Altitude Excursion (Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir)

8:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Tsomgo Lake & Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir

Depart early for a drive up to Tsomgo Lake (Changu Lake), located at a breathtaking altitude of 12,400 feet. The oval-shaped glacial lake is revered by locals and offers stunning mountain reflections. You can opt for a seasonal yak ride along the shores.

Continue another 15–20 km to the Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial Temple, dedicated to a legendary Indian Army soldier.

Optional Add-on: If you obtain the mandatory extra permit in advance, you can head to the Indo-China border at Nathula Pass (4,310m).

Late Afternoon: Return to Gangtok and relax after the high-altitude journey.

Day 3: Gangtok Monasteries & Local Sightseeing

6:00 AM – 7:30 AM: Tashi Viewpoint Sunrise
Wake up early to catch a breathtaking sunrise over the Kanchenjunga snow peaks, accompanied by hot masala chai.

9:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Spiritual & Cultural Gems
Ganesh Tok & Hanuman Tok: Perched high on hills, these viewpoints house small shrines and offer panoramic sweeps of the valleys below.

Enchey Monastery: Built in 1840, this peaceful temple belongs to the Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism.

Banjhakri Falls: A lush, 2-acre energy park centered around a cascading waterfall and sculptures celebrating ancient Shamanic culture.

2:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Tibetan Heritage & Ropeway

Do Drul Chorten & Namgyal Institute of Tibetology: Explore one of India's most important repositories of Tibetan language, art, and culture. Spin the 108 prayer wheels encircling the adjacent golden stupa.

Gangtok Ropeway: Conclude your sightseeing with a 20-minute cable car ride that glides right over the city, treating you to aerial views of the deep valley.

Day 4: Departure via Rumtek Monastery

Morning: Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and complete checkout.

En Route Stop: Rumtek Monastery
Before descending to the plains, stop by the magnificent Rumtek Monastery, the largest monastery in Sikkim. It serves as a major seat of the Kagyu sect and features brilliant traditional architecture and green terraced views.

Afternoon: Continue your drive down to NJP, Siliguri or Bagdogra Airport to catch your late afternoon or evening departure flight/train.
